  Dissing the JWs....

  i've been inactive for a few years now, and yet, despite all i read, i can't feel as you mostly all do.

  i have a lot of happy memories of being "in the truth" (and i know how much some here hate that line) and fond memories of the meetings and assemblies, sure it was much easier to break away and live life like i am now,..... but well, thats just how i feel.

  i can understand those that may leave for personal reasons, but not sure i'll ever understand some here who have such a hatred of anything jw related.

  Not that I am bitter in the least, lol, but I was always well aware that other churches and beliefs were corrupt and misled. Finding out that my own religion was as bad or in most many cases worse has much more personal passion for me. That's likely why I spend my time on a board devoted to JW issues.

  That was exactly the point I was trying to make. Its different when it's your church. I am not defending the Borg, but I think realizing that they are just another goofy religion might help you get over the bitterness.

  you have been disfellowshipped for this sin and now you want to seek reinstatement.

  How about this, a Presiding Overseer who admits to molesting his daughter over several years. DF'd of course, reinstated in 6 months.

  Yeah that seems about right. Of course he learned his lesson. The next time he was accused, he simply denied the charges.

  Scooby, I am with you on this one. I too remember much that was good about being a dub. It doesn't mean I still want to be one, or that I can overlook all the negative aspects of the religion. What some people here seem to overlook is that the problems within the JW religion are not unique. Other religions can be just as cold, arrogant, judgemental etc. The reason I think some of these people are so bitter is that it was their religion, and they thought it was different or better than other churches.

  There is nothing unique about Jehovah's Witnesses.

  so many people have given up families and careers, sold their homes, given away all their money, abandonded their children and are searching for the truth about this most important matter, brothers and sisters.

  this is a most serious issue in these "trying times" that we need to resolve.

  after all, jehovah is watching us, and we simply cannot piss him off now, can we?

  What you all seem to be overlooking is this: there is a typical Farkel, and then there is the antitypical Farkel. First of all there is the typical Farkel, who portrayed in a small way the greater, or antitypical Farkel.

  all dish network satellite subscribers who get america's top 150 should be able to access this channel, as may others with c-band satellite dishes (check your satellite provider's guide for the worldlink tv channel..

  Okay, I watched it. Its amazing stuff. I wish there had been a little more detail on some of the cases mentioned though.

  There was also an update at the end of the show, detailing how a radio call-in show was flooded with calls, and how the British government had started an investigation.

  Now if I could just see the 5th Estate.

  related to my thread about talking to jw family members who refuse to shun you lol..... i'm a "walk away", no judicial action taken against me.

  as it stands, i would like to keep it that way to be able to have a cordial relationship with some family (and perhaps a couple friends).

  so here's a problem: at my former kh there sits in a drawer a document that could really screw me if i am in a life threatening situation.
